Heather K. Mak, Founder
Heather K. Mak is the founder of Packaging Probe. An advocate of win-win situations, she started Packaging Probe in 2007 realizing that she could take advantage of her knowledge of environmental issues as well as several years of experience in the consumer packaged goods industry.
She completed her Business & Sustainability MBA degree at the Schulich School of
Business in Toronto, Canada in April 2008 along with a thesis entitled "Ecolabelling: A development framework and application for carbon labels in Canada" under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Crane. Heather also holds a B.Com degree in Marketing from McGill, where she graduated in 2005. She currently works as a CSR Advisor at a business-led, non-profit consultancy in Toronto.
In her spare time she enjoys world travel, meandering at random, music of all kinds, writing,

Emma Rockett, Second in Command, Canadian Package Prober
Emma Rockett studied finance at Ryerson University in Toronto and spent the two years following working in the financial services industry. Realizing she lacked the will to finish the Canadians Securities Course, she travelled to Ghana and spent a few weeks volunteering at an orphanage. She now works for an international non-profit organization that facilitates volunteer work abroad. Emma spends her spare time: making hummus, running, reading, thinking about pugs, and eating delicious dinners with her friends and family.
Spencer Ross, East Coast US Package Prober
Spencer Ross is an MBA student of International Business and Marketing at St. John's University in New York City. Prior to business school, he took interest in CSR/sustainable business from reading profiles of corporations such as Starbucks.
Before receiving his MBA in Spring 2008, Spencer will be publishing an optional Master's thesis entitled "CSR Marketing Communications of American and Western European MNEs: A longitudinal study of stakeholder engagement." He received his B.A. in Political Science from McGill University and has also worked in the financial services industry.
T. W. Mak, West Coast US Package Prober
T.W. Mak is an engineer by trade, and specializes in user research and biomimicry. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, as well as a Masters of Applied Science in Design Theory & Methodology from the University of Toronto.
In her spare time she enjoys crafting, in particular, textile arts.
Toral Padia, UK Packaging Prober
Toral Padia was born in Nyeri, Kenya, and studied marketing at McGill University. She
has had experience working in the entire product life cycle of the beverages industry.
Currently, she can be found in London working in marketing, downing smoothies and
frequently making a killer plate of masala fries.
